In search of much publicised relocation of Namibian Cheetahs I chanced upon Kuno Forest Retreat by Evoke.  The moment I reserved a premium tent in the retreat I was constantly guided by the young and very competent Manager , Mahima. At my request a vehicle was sent to Gwalior Airport for being driven 160 kms to reach the retreat. Once I was there the young team took over seeing my every bit of comfort on very cold time .  Then the Manager , Mr. Abhisekh , joined me at the dinner table and arranged for requested food and took charge of my stay there. From then onwards it was a delectable stay and sight seeing of 2  nights till I left the place with a heavy heart after a enjoyable breakfast in a very foggy and cold day for Gwalior for my onward journey to Mumbai. The highlight of the retreat was a 3 hour long safari in the Kuno National Park which started at 7.30 AM . I was accompanied by a young team of boys and a girl led by Ved . The  nature guide , a young fellow from the tribe which a few years back were  living inside the Park and were subsequently relocated for the initial plan for Asiatic lions. He knew every kind of trees , birds ( a paradise for bird lovers ) and the calls of various animals in the Park. We were not very lucky to see any big predator that day but the safari was extremely satisfying in the thick forest inside of which Kuno river flows . Then I was taken in the afternoon for nearby destinations near the river. In the evening  I was treated to a beautiful young band from Varanasi and then in the night , on a clear sky for star gazing from a good telescope.

It was a great experience at Kuno, We enjoyed a lot, the food was mouth watering and the staff was very friendly and cooperative, there were many in house activities to do which was the best part…the tents were very spacious and comfortable with all the amenities provided. Nice Hospitality. Miss Mahima Bhatia have done marvellous job. Her behaviour towards hospitality is quite recommendable. Well behaved staff. Thanks
